Admittedly I had never heard of Lil Chuuuch prior to yesterday. Here’s another admission, I wish I hadn’t waited so long. The story goes that the Chicago based emcee was discovered by RZA a while back when Chuuuch was known as “The Reverend William Burke.” He received his new moniker, “Lil Chuuuch,” from the Bishop Don Magic Juan. This of course makes perfect sense since this video pretty much depicts Chuuuch as a hybrid of the two figures. Chuuuch has that mid-west speed flow down, and yet his overall flow pattern and aesthetic make him hard to compartmentalize; no denying the swag. I have no idea how a guy discovered by RZA and being co-signed by Snoop’s spiritual mentor has not fully inundated all of our inboxes, I can only hypothesize that with a little luck that will drastically change.
