Wild Cowboys was an album that pretty much filtered real Sadat X fans from other Brand Nubian cats, it was his first solo project, and it was particular to his steez to say the least. As for me, I bumped this CD everyday after freshman football practice in Boston on the ride back to school from the field with my tiny Asian mother driving and the starting offensive line for Brookline High in the back bumping gums and heads. That’s the thing about experience and music, if integrated during a meaningful life moment/s, the enjoyment one receives from music can exceed the actual musical merit of a particular track or album. For me, Wild Cowboys goes down as a personal favorite, not because X was that nice, but for the mere fact that his album came to define an enjoyable activity I shared with the homies. This video on the other hand, is objectively dope.
